Ah Ronnie, “Luvvie”, it seemed like you’d live forever, but you are gone to lead & direct those ever-multiplying Angelic Choirs.

It truly is the end of an era. I only officially studied with you for 1 year (we won’t say anything about the extra lessons at home in Rathgar, or that you informed Professor Hughes that I was abandoning my B.Mus studies with just a few months to go!). But Ronnie, despite this, and your hilariously wicked sense of humour, throwing a full cup of tea out Room 20’s window onto the traffic warden below during my 8am lesson (accompanied by a choice expletive), and OH so much more…….
Ronnie – you were a good one, with a heart of gold, a Mammy-like love of your students, and a champion and supporter of Classical Crossover Music every time we met you socially over the last few years. Another brilliant light
in the Irish Music Scene has been extinguished, but will unquestionably shine on through others…….. Thanks Ronnie, but it really is time now for you to rest, in peace. ![]()
