Northern Ireland Opera

Looking forward to this lovely sold out Puccini concert with Nothern Ireland Opera this Sunday. It’s been a while so I’m fully looking forward to sharing the stage with Mary, Gemma and Frasier. Puccini is definitely a good way to blow the cobwebs out!

The Festival of Voice begins in earnest today, with our first BBC Radio 3 recital being recorded later, for broadcast in October, featuring Newry baritone Ben McAteer, (who was the first ever winner of the Festival back in 2010) with pianist Simon LepperAlthough we can’t have audiences at the BBC recitals this year, we’re delighted with the response to the two ticketed events, the Competition Finale and Puccini and a Pint, which have both sold out. Pictured here are the four singers and musicians who will be performing in Puccini and a Pint on Sunday in the Orpheus Ballroom above the Harp Bar in Belfast: clockwise from top left, sopranos Mary McCabe and Gemma Prince, pianist Frasier Hickland and tenor Daryl Simpson.
