I was lucky to see another two concerts. And again it made me feel privileged. To hear those great and beloved voices live is always an outstanding pleasure.
These concerts were very special to me because there were no guests. Just our four guys. I think that’s all we need, though I loved to hear and see Deirdre and Donna.
The first one was Stuttgart. I went there with Marjoeska. Have to mention the theatre staff. Very kind and helpful.
John already reviewed this concert and I can agree with the most of it. Daryl was special with ‘How great Thou art’. I always love to hear ‘Bring him home’ and ‘The holy city’. Let them record it please!
I loved ‘Fearless love’ much more live then at first on CD. Wonder if Ute can agree.
‘Come what may’ became a favourite immediately after I heard it from the CD. With piano in stead of guitar it is stunning. ‘In the gloaming’ was really a perfect ending indeed.
John, the way you described Colm is SO right.
The second one was Frankfurt. There Christel joined us. We enjoyed our stay there.
It seemed that the guys (especially Colm) were more relaxed. The play list was the same. The encores different (besides Nessun dorma).
I wondered that nobody who reviewed mentioned the change in ‘Remember me’. I was very surprised, but maybe they did it before.
Now looking forward to next concert(s). This week we ordered tickets for two Dutch concerts in November!
