Such a privilege. I’ve been to all Dutch concerts. I’ve seen a lot of
my own country.
I met other fans. Some special new ones.
Very special was Christel in Wageningen. She came over for three concerts. In Roosendaal we made an appointment to travel together to Papendrecht. We had a lovely day. Madeleine and I were already dressed for the evening, because we didn’t have a hotel for that day (Madeleine’s husband picked us up after the concert). The weather was great and we had a two hours walk on court shoes! We talked about the next Dutch or German tour and the possibility to go to a concert in Ireland in December. I’m sure we’ll keep in touch.
Every concert was special and had highlights. One concert was more than special. Really spectacular. I’m so glad I was there. That’s Bussum of course. Piano by James and Daryl! Highlights all over. I loved it. This time they sang Ireland’s call. The guys showed (again) how professional they are.
Colm and Robbie were absolutely great. Marvellous jobs they did. And they appeared at every Meet & Greet. Well done.
Did anyone notice how Robbie was miming Nessun Dorma?
Last year it was touching when Deirdre sang `Song for Ireland. I prefer men’s voices so… I loved to hear it from the CT. `You raise me up’. Since my cancer two years ago, my energy level is lower than it was before. Therefore it was a risk to buy tickets for all Dutch concerts. Could I make it? Now I know that these concerts GIVE me energy. So: Celtic Tenors (and the others), you raised me up. THANK YOU.
-An cailin rua – A lovely melody. I really hope it will be on the new CD.
-Pie Jesus – So beautiful with Donna.
-Libiamo – I enjoyed the performance every evening.
-Still by your side – It always had a special meaning for me. Now it is even more special.
-The Irish Rover -. When I hear the drowning dog by James I wonder how his `Old MacDonald’ will sound. There was a goat already last year.
-In The Gloaming – A lovely song. In Cuijk it was dedicated to my mother. Later James gave her his rose. She was delighted.
-Remember me – I found the lyrics after the concert in 2005 and knew the lyrics by heart within two days (Matthew’s part took most of the time).
-The Holy City gave me goose bumps and so did ‘Ten housand tears’.
-The `Ave Maria’ was again a amazing version.
-Glad that `Katie’ is on Donna’s CD. Now I can listen to it again.
-The mad lady and me – was dedicated to Madeleine and me in Roosendaal. Guess what I think of when I see a river .
-Bring him home’ should be on the new CD.
-I wonder how many verses `An Poc Ar Buile’ has.
-Time To Say Goodbye – came too soon every night, especially in Gorssel.
-The chorus of `Nessun Dorma’ by the audience is always fun. And yes some nights everyone stopped in time!
