Cruise 2023 Basseterre

These trips truly are a privilege – some of the places we get to see & visit!

Today we are on St Kitts (only 26C today) & just enjoyed a lovely panoramic tour through the capital Basseterre, the Romney estate & gardens, Caribelle Batiks, then return via some spectacular vistas. Who knows when I may be back here? I also never knew Nevis was a separate island to St Kitts – every day’s a school-day.

Despite being the first colonised Caribbean island, and having an horrific slave trade history……. it is now a proud, and pretty, independent nation! A privilege & pleasure. 🙏🇰🇳

Independence Square in Basseterre (capital of St Kitts) – originally the site of the regular slave market. The island was the first Caribbean island to be colonised. It’s had a dark & very bloody past, but thankfully a bright present & future hopefully.
